IM体育’s Hesed postsecondary transition program reflects a genuine desire to put God’s love into action through uplifting and empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities as they navigate the challenges of transitioning into adulthood.

The Hesed program is motivated by a deep-seated belief that every individual can thrive and fulfill their potential. We recognize the unique obstacles faced by our students as they journey toward independence and self-sufficiency, and we are committed to walking alongside our students to provide support and just-right challenges to launch them into the next phase of life after school.

What is "Hesed"?

"Hesed" is a profound concept in Biblical Hebrew and encapsulates the idea of God’s steadfast love and kindness. It represents a deep, enduring commitment to care for and support others, rooted in a sense of compassion and generosity.

About the Applied Learning Certificate Program

Students will learn to develop the skills needed to increase their autonomy. The skills they learn will help them with their vocational exploration, independent living skills, and self-advocacy.

College Experience

An inclusive experience

With our residential format, we offer a fully inclusive experience with dedicated Resident Assistants to assist with any needs that students might have. There are also non-residential formats available. Students can come to experience classes, community, and internships and then go home at the end of the day.

Tools for success

Course engagement is offered via face-to-face classes. Throughout the program, Student Support Advisors will provide peer modeling and mentoring to offer students all the tools that help them succeed. By the end of the program, students will have completed the requirements to earn an e-badge in a concentration area.
